Garden Bed Design & Installation

Beds are where a landscape either looks designed or looks accumulated. Shape, layering and a genuinely crisp edge are the difference.

Beds with deliberate shape, layered planting and a spaded edge that stays crisp.

A good bed has three things a poor one does not: a shape drawn on purpose, planting layered by mature height rather than by what was on the truck, and an edge cut sharp enough to read as a line from the street.

We design beds around the architecture — following the geometry of the house where it should be formal, sweeping where the lot wants movement — and plant them so they still work when everything reaches full size. Colour comes from foliage that holds all year in this climate, crotons, bromeliads and ti, rather than annuals that need replacing every quarter to look intentional.

Then the edge. A spaded trench edge or a curbed one, cut deep and maintained, is the single most visible detail on a property, and it is the one most crews skip.

Common questions

What people ask before they call.

What plants actually survive Southwest Florida beds?

The ones suited to sun, salt and a summer that floods then dries. We plant for how a bed looks in August as well as February, which usually means fewer species than people expect and more of each.

How often do beds need re-mulching?

Usually twice a year. Mulch holds moisture and suppresses weeds, and it breaks down faster here than in cooler climates.
